Dear Friends,


Czech School San Diego in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles would like to invite you to a concert of an internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso Jaroslav Sveceny and his daughter Julie Svecena. The concert will take place on Monday, October 27th at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe.


The father-daughter duo will play music from the 18th to the 21st century by Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Boieldieu, Arriagada, Svěcený, Leclair and Bériot including an American premiere of Sveceny's sacral composition "Church Phantasy for a Solo Violin", which Jaroslav Sveceny first performed in the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, Czech Republic, in the presence of Cardinal Dominik Duka.


Jaroslav Svěcený is one of the most significant contemporary Czech violinists as well as an internationally recognized string instrument expert.  His daughter Julie Svěcená studies at the Prague Conservatory as well as with the soloist of the New York Philharmony prof. Rodney Friend and has already distinguished herself as a significant force on the concert stage.
