From June 9 to October 30, 2005 there will be a multimedia traveling exhibition in the Chateau Troja in Prague, called The Beauties and Secrets of the Czech Republic. Troja is an important example of baroque architecture.

In this exhibit the visitor will for the first time have access to beautiful underground areas which in the past served as wine cellars. He will "pass" from prehistoric times through the time of the Celts, the Premislids, through Gothic and Renaissance periods. From the room devoted to the times of Rudolf II. one can enter a holy area which is accessible only from the underground. It adjoins a Baroque staircase with a sculpture of the Giants.

The exhibition continues on the first floor of the Chateau where you can see pictures by Alfons Mucha and sculptures by Frantisek Bilek, Ladislav Saloun and Jaroslav Horejc- all from the Gallery of the City of Prague. During July and August one can view here also the original painting of the Black Madonna.

A Czech and English guidebook called KRASY A TAJEMSTVI CESKE REPUBLKY - THE BEAUTIES AND SECRETS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC by Bohumil Vurm, Director of the Praga Mystica Society is available. This guide is at the same time an outstanding and nontraditional overview of the history of the Czech lands from antiquity to Secession.
